Project Genesis

17/04/2009  Another consignment of goodies arrives from the States,  Battery problem solved,  relays for interfaces arrived as well. Circuit board sorted for relays,  everything looking good.

22/04/2009  Motored up to Sherwood Forest to complete some commercial work this morning, called in at Rufford Abbey, they have three trees ( Actually a lot more ) that would be suitable for Project Genesis. We have had three days of Glorious weather and set for another couple more according to the forecast.

03/05/2009  Working on some Gel holders ( 30 ) had some rouge paint that was supposed to be Cellulose but was in fact Cellulose compatible,  it was not going to dry,  due to this unforeseen hardship I found myself forced to watch not one, not two, but three episodes of Dr Who on the BBC iPlayer.  Even after that marathon the paint was still not dry so I had to leg it into Town and buy some cheapo cellulose aerosols from Poundland,  however it was Gloss, but who the heck is going to be bothered with that at two o'clock in the morning, did the trick.

09/05/2009  Took some of the equipment for Project Genesis out for a test run last night, I did think that I would need eye protection because of the blowback, but I regarded it as a bit of a joke,  however last night the joke became a reality,  the blast from one unit alone was sufficient to warrant eye protection,  I did say on my FoSF Blog that I needed enough fire power to kill a small army, well all I need to do is now modify that blast into a manageable force.  The night was reasonably clear but overall it was dogged by fine cloud,  I finished shooting about 1am and then called in to Rufford Abbey at the Mill end.  I was greeted by a nice surprise, the globes on the lamp standards had been cleaned,  and did they sparkle - looking forward to seeing those negatives very soon.  This next week I will be concentrating on the Radio side of things,  bending signals around corners etc,  everything going very well and on course.

14/08/2009  Been a while since I've been in here,  everything is still moving forward,  never cease to be amazed at the control gear available,  I see new equipment coming on to the market every month,  yes saying I wish someone would make a left handed wotsit for a right handed thingy actually happens.  I would like to say that Project Genesis should be rolled out within the next couple of weeks, but I'm not going to tempt providence,  I have a serious workload on due the late night antics of a small band of idiots who were prepared to risk burning down the Forest for the sake of having a good time.

05/09/2009  Back to late night shooting last night, using available light at 1am  ( Moonlight ) I managed to create several images that to all intents and purposes looked as though it was daytime.  Emphasises the point that Creative Photography is down to equipment, technique and forward thinking.

Major Oak by Moonlight 2009

1am > 30 seconds > f 1.2 > 400 asa Fuji Pro film and a Uniloc tripod.

12/09/2009   I had planned to hold a private performance of Project Genesis at the Major Oak.  This would have been a short theatre style presentation of Project Genesis and not just a demonstration,  while the performance would have been relatively short it would have been dramatic.  The lead on from this would,  subject to approval a Public performance of the Genesis Experience with the proceeds going to the Major Oak.  As you can guess due to recent events and the reaction or lack of it from the Nottinghamshire County Council administration team these performances have been cancelled,  the only consideration that could be given to bringing these performances back would be a complete change in management.  This decision has been made after very careful consideration, and with deep regret at the circumstances under which this decision has had to be made.

01/11/2009  I have decided to review the management plan for Project Genesis,  while we now have a team of highly qualified Photographers raring to go,  a radical change now will in effect substantially alter the productivity levels.  While this may involve delays in rolling out the project the overall benefit to others including the public will be worthwhile.

23/01/2010  I would like to thank a Gentleman from Southampton for supplying us with much needed electronic components for use on this Project on very generous terms > Thanks Bill

08/05/2010  A supplier in Hong Kong has let me down very badly,  I returned an item that was faulty and despite quite a successful trading history this chap goes pear shaped on me and starts lying about not having received the item back, when it's obvious for his communications he has it.  I find it very sad not only for the loss of what I thought was a reputable supplier but also for the Photographers I have recommended to this trader.  He has lost an order for 25 units worth approx £ 340.00 > no way can I trust this person again.

19/07/2010  More Big Hammers are being added to the inventory,  a spin off of this project is a smaller scale one, and I thought it would be appropriate to name it " Sun of Genesis " Lol.

05/08/2010  Have run into some Red Tape - I was expecting this but it is not as bad as expected, and can be considered as the norm for the type od work being undertaken, and under the circumstances compliance is better than any other alternative.
